What happens if some of my creditors vote against my proposal?
Providing you get 75% of your creditors by value to accept your IVA proposal then the remaining creditors are legally bound by it too, even if they voted against it. This means that they come under the same restrictions as the creditors who voted yes, so they are not allowed to contact you in the future about the money you owe them.If any of your creditors persist in chasing you once your IVA has started then you should inform your Licensed Insolvency Practitioner who will contact them again to remind them you now have an Individual Voluntary Arrangement and they are breaking the law by chasing you for the debt.
