FSTE 100 ends Monday up slightly

The FTSE 100 got off to a steady start to the week on Monday, rising by 0.13 per cent.At the close of play the London index stood at 5,710.66 a rise of 7.64 points.
Leading the gains through the day was Xstrata which ended up 3.23 per cent to 1,231.5p.
Vodafone Group and Lonmin also performed strongly, rising 3.03 per cent and 2.43 per cent respectively.
Cable and Wireless suffered the biggest slump on Monday, sliding 4.68 per cent to 56p.
Whitbread and Burberry Group also fell by 2.58 per cent and 1.95 per cent.
