FTSE 100 begins Tuesday in confident manner rising 0.5 per cent

The FTSE 100 rose slightly on Tuesday morning, up half a per cent, thanks to strong trading in the mining sector.At 09:21 GMT the London index stood at 5,380.78 - a rise of 28.71 points or 0.54 per cent.
Rolls-Royce Group led the gains in the first hour of trading, rising 1.52 per cent to 533.5p.
Xstrata, Rio Tinto and AstraZeneca also rose 1.05 per cent, 1.02 per cent and 0.94 per cent respectively.
Following the news Lloyds chief executive Eric Daniels will forgo his £2.3 million bonus, shares in the banking group rose 1.16 per cent.
The brokerage group ICAP suffered the biggest slump, falling 0.97 per cent to 335.6p.
