FTSE 100 continues to rise for fifth day

The FTSE 100 opened steadily on Tuesday morning, rising by over half a per cent in early trading.At 10:09 GMT the London index stood at 5,430.12 a rise of 27.71 points, or 0.51 per cent.
Leading the gains was Vedanta Resources, up 71 points, 2.80 per cent, to 2,611p.
Liberty International and Sergo also performed strongly, rising 2.4 per cent and 2.1 per cent respectively.
The biggest loser in the morning was Randgold Resources, down 1.16 per cent to 5,110p.
The FTSE 100 has now returned to the level seen prior to the collapse of Lehman Brothers in September 2008.
