FTSE 100 down 0.4% in early trading

The FTSE 100 started the day with a drop below 4,300 after yesterday's gains.At 08:56 BST, the index was down 0.39 per cent or 16.94 points to 4,277.09 as traders mopped up the gains made yesterday.
Last night in New York, the Dow Jones was up 1.08 per cent, with only two firms seeing looses. Meanwhile Chicago's S&P 500 gained 0.91 per cent.
Back in London this morning, gains were led by builders merchant Wolseley as chief executive Chip Hornsby stepped down with immediate effect.
Barclays was up 2.97 per cent, while Royal Bank of Scotland gained 1.00 per cent to 39.39p.
Thomas Cook was up 1.68 per cent and silver miner Fresnillo gained 1.03 per cent.
After yesterday's gains Prudential was down 2.60 per cent, while Unilever dropped 2.20 per cent.
United Utilities was down 2.11 per cent and Intertek slid 2.08 per cent.
