FTSE 100 rises for fourth consecutive day

The FTSE 100 rose for a fourth consecutive day in early trading on Thursday, led by gains in the mining sector.At 10:09 GMT the London index stood at 5,387.80, up 15.42 points, or 0.29 per cent.
Leading the gains was Fresnillo, up 2.47 per cent to 766.5p, with Old Mutual also rising by 1.97 per cent to 108.6p.
The index remains on track to record its largest-ever annual gains since 1997.
The biggest loser on Thursday morning was RSA Insurance Group down 1.57 per cent, with Hammerson also down 0.9 per cent to 395.5p.
