FTSE ascent slows by Tuesday close

The FTSE 100 again closed up today, although at a slower rate of growth compared to Monday.By close of play the leading share index was up 34.67 points, or 0.65 per cent, to 5,328.66.
Leading the gains was Cairn Energy, which saw its shares soar 6.34 per cent.
Royal Dutch Shell was up 2.79 per cent meanwhile, with consumer packaging group Rexam (2.41 per cent) and Unilever (2.05 per cent) were also among the day's best performers.
On the flipside, silver miner Fresnillo took a 3.33 per cent dive, with Royal Bank of Scotland Group slipping 2.48 per cent.
British Airways (1.87 per cent) and yesterday's big gainer Aggreko (1.44 per cent) were also among the losses.
