FTSE continues steady gains in early trading

The FTSE 100 continued to make steady gains this morning, building on an impressive start to the week.At 09:59 GMT the London index stood at 5,372.56, a rise of 43.90 points, or 0.82 per cent.
Following impressive gains on Tuesday, Royal Dutch Shell again led the way in early trading, up 2.29 per cent to 1,744.64p.
Eurasian Natural Resources Corp also recorded impressive gains, up 2.19 per cent.
The biggest loser in the morning trading was BT which took a dive of 1.76 per cent.
International Power also suffered a drop of 0.68 per cent.
