FTSE continues to decline as snow falls

The FTSE 100 continued to fall on Wednesday morning, losing 0.13 per cent in the first hour or so of trading.

At 09:30 the London index stood at 5,491.42, down 7.29 points.

Following the news crude oil had fallen below $80 a barrel due to demand concerns, Royal Dutch Shell shares slipped by over 1.5 per cent in early trading.

Amec suffered the biggest drops though, down 2.84 per cent to 770p.

Leading the gains on Wednesday morning was Eurasian Natural Resources Corp, up 2.62 per cent, or 26 points, to 1,017p.

Admiral Group was also up 2.55 per cent, with Fresnillo recording gains of 1.92 per cent.ADNFCR-1783-ID-19554200-ADNFCR
