FTSE inches up in early morning trading

The FTSE 100 rose 0.75 per cent, or 38.38 points, on Friday morning as former prime minister Tony Blair prepared to appear before the Iraq inquiry.As the leading shares index hit 5,184.12 by 09:15 GMT International Power led the gains at 2.80 per cent.
Resolution Ltd followed close behind on 2.41 per cent.
Oil giant Royal Dutch Shell fell 2.35 per cent meanwhile, with defence group BAE Systems slipping 0.91 per cent.
