Lloyds Banking helps FTSE 100 rise

The FTSE 100 rose 0.34 per cent in early trading on Friday with Lloyds Banking leading the gains.The index stood at 5,155.23 a rise of 17.51 points at 09:03 GMT.
Lloyds Banking was up 6.29 per cent to 91.41p after its statement yesterday that it was in advanced talks over stepping away from the government's asset protection scheme.
WPP Group was up 4.59 per cent as the advertising group reported it was turning a corner although revenues were down 8.7 per cent.
G4S gained 3.59 per cent, Burberry Group rose 3.46 per cent and Royal Bank of Scotland climbed 3.45 per cent.
Heading the drops, GlaxoSmithKline fell 1.40 per cent. RSA Insurance lost 0.72 per cent and Vodafone dropped 0.72 per cent.
Last night in the US, as the nation came out of recession, the Dow was up 2.05 per cent and the S&P 500 climbed 2.25 per cent.
Optimism continued in Asia, with the Nikkei 225 climbing 1.45 per cent and the Hang Seng rising 2.29 per cent.
In Europe this morning the Dax was down 0.07 per cent and the Cac 40 climbed 0.12 per cent.
