Lloyds sends FTSE down on opening

The FTSE 100 opened down almost half of one per cent on Thursday morning.At 09:15 GMT the London index stood at 5,298.27, a drop of 21.99 points 0.41 per cent.
The biggest loser in early trading was Lloyds Banking Group, down 2.52 per cent to 54.18p.
Barclays also saw drops of 1.37 per cent to 288p.
Mining shares were also sent down as metal prices eased as the dollar strengthened in the wake of a statement from the Federal Reserve on Wednesday night.
Antofagasta also saw shares drop 2.12 per cent, 20 points.
Rentokil Initial recorded the biggest gains in early trading, up almost four per cent in the morning to 109.10p.
