Mining sector slump causes FTSE 100 to fall over 0.5 per cent

The FTSE 100 suffered a disappointing start to the week on Monday, slipping over half a per cent.At the close of play the London index stood at 5,593.85 a drop of 31.8 points or 0.57 per cent.
The mining sector suffered the worst losses, with Eurasian Natural Resources Corp slipping 3.41 per cent to 1,133p.
Antofagasta and Fresnillo also dropped 3.1 per cent and 3.07 per cent respectively.
Bucking the general trend of the day Centrica led the gains on Monday, rising 1.62 per cent to 294.7p.
Aggreko and Shire were also up 1.45 per cent and 1.17 per cent at the close of play.
