Orange to release iPhone on Nov 10th

Monday 2nd November 2009

Orange is to bring the iPhone to UK customers from November 10th, the network announced today.

The iPhone 3G and 3GS handsets will be available from 07:00 GMT next Tuesday, breaking the O2 monopoly on the sale of the phone in the UK.

Tom Alexander, chief executive of Orange UK, said: "The excitement for the iPhone is immense, and this is a great day for our customers, our company and our employees.

"Since we announced the iPhone on Orange we have already seen more than a quarter of a million customers register their interest on our website."

Customers who take out 24 month contracts worth £30 or £40 a month will be given their handset for 'free'. In September, both Orange and Vodafone announced that they would be offering the iPhone. ADNFCR-1783-ID-19438023-ADNFCR
