UK inflation falls to 3.2 per cent in June

Tuesday 13th July 2010

The cost of living in Britain fell in June for the second straight month, official figures revealed on Tuesday.

The Office for National Statistics said consumer prices index (CPI) inflation fell 0.2 points from May to 3.2 per cent in June.

However, the figure was 0.1 points above expectations and way ahead of the Bank of England's target of 2.0 per cent.

The retail prices index (RPI) inflation measure fell to five per cent from 5.1 per cent meanwhile. The RPI includes mortgage payments.

Falling clothes and fuel prices were attributed to the fall in CPI inflation.ADNFCR-1783-ID-19886603-ADNFCR
